Force.com workbook is designed to show you how to use the Force.com platform to build your own on-demand application. The workbook consists of five tutorials that you can complete in approximately 30 minutes each. By going through the tutorials you will build and deploy a simple application, Mileage Tracker, and then extend it by adding business logic and creating a custom user interface.

The Force.com workbook consists of 5 easy tutorials:

  • Tutorial 1: Build the application using the declarative Force.com Builder
  • Tutorial 2: Build the same application using an integrated development environment, the Eclipse-based Force.com IDE
  • Tutorial 3: Use Apex to add business logic to the application to limit the number of miles that can be reported for any single day
  • Tutorial 4: Extend the application's visual interface using Visualforce
  • Tutorial 5: Use the Code Share repository to store and share application code
